Description

This is the ORIGINAL 1971 stereo U.S. press Capitol Records self-titled LP from rock singer / songwriter Paul Pena. It is Capitol Records catalog number ST-11005, and is a RARE ITEM which has not been offered on eBay either at auction or at fixed price sale during the past month as far as I can tell, and which has been out of print in all formats since the time of its original release in 1971. Paul Pena was a great unrecognized talent who over the years worked and recorded with The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders, and Frank Zappa, and who also wrote the big Steve Miller Band hit 'Jet Airliner'. Personnel: Paul Pena - guitar, keyboards (on "The River"), lead vocals, background vocals / Jeff "Skunk" Baxter - steel guitar / Jesse Raye - bass, background vocals / Ed Costa - keyboards, background vocals / Jim Wilkins - drums / Jumma Santos - congas, maracas / Betsy Morse - harp / Clarice Taylor - background vocals / Ellis Hall - background vocals / Gil Thomas - background vocals / Earl Frost - background vocals / Ronnie Ingraham Concert Choir - background vocals (on "The River"). Tracks: Woke Up This Morning – 4:50, I'm Gonna Make It Alright – 4:07, The River – 6:03, One For The Lonely – 4:48, Something To Make You Happy – 7:05, My Adorable One – 3:30, When I'm Gone – 4:33, Lullaby – 5:10. Condition of record is for all intents and purposes a SOLID NM with all original gloss and just a couple of very light and very small sleeve marks which are not the result of use, only show up under strong light, cannot be felt, and do not affect play. Labels have no problems worth mentioning. Condition of cover is also a real nice VG++ with the original shrinkwrap torn in a couple of spots but still surrounding the cover, some light brown age discoloration along the open edge, some wear on the left lower corner where the shrinkwrap has been worn away, and a little wear along the open edges and on the corners on the open edge. A rare addition to any late 1960s / early 1970 rock or singer / songwriter record collection! Winning bidder pays $3.00 media mail postage or actual insured priority mail postage within the U.S; due to new eBay regulations insurance will now be optional on my shipments, buyer assumes risk of loss or damage in transit on uninsured shipments. I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - Uninsured first class international airmail postage to the UK or anyplace in Europe is $13.50 - Please e-mail me for postage rates to other areas outside the U.S. WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP if winning bidder is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
