vs. and Vitalogy continued the band’s explosive success that began with their debut record Ten in 1991. vs. was released on October 19, 1993 debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold over 6 million copies. 

Vitalogy followed a little over a year later on December 6, 1994, and has since gone 4-times Platinum, also reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. And now some fifteen+ years later, these seminal records receive the definitive reissue.

Pearl Jam's third studio album, Vitalogy, was originally released in 1994. The album's original packaging resembled that of a 1920's medical book. 

This was their first album with Eddie Vedder making the final decisions. During the recording of album, tensions were high and communications were low. Many of the songs seem to be based on the pressures of fame and the inherent loss of privacy.

The first single from the album "Spin The Black Circle" became the band's first to reach the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 18. The group also won their first Grammy Award for the single for Best Hard Rock Performance.

Pearl Jam (sometimes referred to as The Avocado Album or simply Avocado) is the eighth studio album by alternative rock band Pearl Jam, released on May 2, 2006 on J Records. It was the first and only release for J Records, their last album issued by Sony Music. It was the band's first full-length studio release in almost four years, since Riot Act (2002). Following their performances at the Vote For Change tour in 2004, the band commenced work on Pearl Jam in November 2004 at Studio X in Seattle, Washington and finished in February 2006.

The music on the record was proclaimed as a return to the band's roots, with an emphasis on up-tempo songs with an aggressive sound. The song lyrics are mostly told from the point of view of characters and deal with the socio-political issues in the United States at the period, such as the War on Terror.

Pearl Jam was critically well received and was a commercial success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and eventually outselling the band's previous release, Riot Act. The album also produced three singles—"World Wide Suicide", "Life Wasted" and "Gone"—which were moderately successful. The band supported the album with a full-scale world tour in 2006.

Pearl Jam rose from the ashes of Mother Love Bone to become the most popular American rock & roll band of the '90s. After vocalist Andrew Wood overdosed on heroin in 1990, guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament assembled a new band, bringing in Mike McCready on lead guitar and recording a demo with Soundgarden's Matt Cameron on drums. Thanks to future Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, the demo found its way to a 25-year-old San Diego surfer named Eddie Vedder, who overdubbed vocals and original lyrics and was subsequently invited to join the band (then christened Mookie Blaylock after the NBA player). Dave Krusen was hired as the full-time drummer shortly thereafter, completing the original lineup. Renaming themselves Pearl Jam, the band recorded their debut album, Ten, in the beginning of 1991. 

Produced by frequent collaborator Brendan O’Brien, Lightning Bolt marks Pearl Jam’s first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer, which was released in September of 2009. The 12-song set will be preceded by the explosive lead single "Mind Your Manners."

Producer Brendan O'Brien joins the band on the keyboard for the ballad "Future Days'.

Pearl Jam Chicago 1995 Vol. 1 Import LIMITED EDITION 2 LP SET

A truly fantastic show. The band was playing in front of a huge crowd at Chicago's Soldier Field (and using a stage left at the venue by the Grateful Dead). The is actually the first live Pearl Jam album I've heard that features Jack Irons on drums. He sounds a bit nervous during this show, and his drumming is often fussy and sloppy, which is not at all typical. The guitar playing is stellar, and Eddie is in fine voice throughout the very generous performance--this was a long show. It's also nice to hear a live document from 20+ years ago to measure against the flood of bootlegs, official and otherwise, that have become available since to hear just how much better Pearl Jam have gotten as a band. The playing has gotten both tighter and more elastic. They've really progressed as musicians and a unit.

This isn't a bootleg recorded at the show, but a recording of the live radio broadcast the band provided to the city of Chicago. The sound quality isn't terrific, but it's not distracting. As an artifact of the band at a specific time (in the aftermath of the fight with Ticketmaster, working on material that would become the No Code album, being a huge band at the peak of their powers but part of a fading musical community), it's a terrific piece of their history
