Description
On the Welsh Gwerin label SYWM 215 from 1980.
One of those legendary albums that comes along "once in a blue moon". Haul ar yr eira was released on the small Welsh label Gwerin in 1980, and has rightly gained a reputation as one of the best folk/rock outings ever. With a mixture of traditional and self-penned material, this Welsh-language album has male and female vocals, harp, flute, recorder, 12 string guitar, bodhran as well as tremendous liquid electric guitar, bass and drums. Their arrangement of the traditional "Can y Melinydd" is particularly stunning. Not every one of these "lost" albums live up to their reputation - this one certainly does.
The vinyl is a lovely near mint condition.
The lyric/picture insert has one light crease top corner, EX condition
The cover is a strong EX+. ***HOWEVER*** there is a very small name written bottom rear corner and four Welsh words written under the group photo on the rear of the cover. These are not intrusive, but only fair to mention them on an item of this quality.
The Side 1 record label has very small inintials written in the "G" of the Gwerin logo, and around the spindle hole, hardly noticeable.There are also a few light "ageing spots" on each label, again nothing to worry about, but it's best to be totally open about all the features, as I say, on an item of this rarity.
Overall, a lovely copy of a very rare and collectable album - and the music's great too!
