Vinyl :  Media Condition: Visual (EX+) Visually, the Original Glossy finish is largely preserved with little clue that the disc has been played. It is difficult to find fault even under strong light. Just one or two very faint hairlines - See Pictures. Labels are fresh. Some fine spider lines on Side 2 and no evidence of spindle marks which I have done my best to illustrate in the hi-res pics.

Sound Test: Very Good Plus (VG+) The album has been fully sound tested using our Michell Orbe/SME309/Ortofon 2M Black into Naim Supernait/PMC Transmission Line Speakers.

There is some crackle at the beginning of Side 1 and at the end of Side 2. Nothing too obtrusive. The album plays well throughout with occasional gentle static rustle but no jumps or clicks due scratches or vinyl surface issues whatsoever. If not for the crackle at the beginning and end, it would have been awarded EX or EX+. In terms of sonics, it is quite outstanding. Compared to our 2nd and 5th pressings, it is in another league. The clock chimes and till register just jump out of the speakers. Stereo Separation and detail are chalk and cheese compared to later pressings. I was genuinely taken aback. On the track 'Money' I heard some backing vocals towards the end that I had never heard as they were meant to be before. A genuine revelation and quite spectacular! Imaging and track separation also stand out as exceptional especially noted on 'the track 'On the Run'.

Cover / Inners:  Sleeve Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) Original Midnight blue cover is in great condition. A few scuff marks on the front and a circular patch in the triangle of the rear cover. A few creases here and there and some edge scuffs at corners and along opening edge. Nothing serious as the pictures illustrate. The inner Gatefolds are still fresh with little shelf wear - see pics. Inner sleeve is original poly-lined black paper with Patent details and 'Made in Britain' detail in white. A little tear at the opening edge and a split seam along left edge about 50mm long. Overall a bit ruffled (as is often the case) but fully intact and presentable.

Unfortunately, the posters and stickers are long gone, however, it is a great copy that will please.

The Album will be professionally deep cleaned using our own CleanerVinyl multi-frequency Ultrasonic equipment.

Grading & Valuation

Our Grading Guarantee explained:
We Grade your record carefully following the Record Collector Guide using many years of experience. However, grading is ultimately subjective and despite being very strict, we may not always please everyone. Please do not leave negative feedback if you are not fully satisfied. We offer a full No Quibble Return, Swap or Refund and we are here to help. In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, cassettes and CDs. Anyone buying or selling records through the magazine must use our conditions to state what amount of wear and tear the disc, its sleeve and/or contents have been subject to. The seven standard condition categories, and a description of what each one means, are listed below:
MINT (M) : The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. EXCELLENT (EX) : The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG) : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. FAIR (F) : The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P) : The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B) : The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
