** Early 1970's UK COLUMBIA LABEL ISSUE OF PINK FLOYD'S THIRD LP release with its newly amended rear cover design, where the couple are facing East. An additional, earlier 1969 cover is included in this sale (with no record), which has the original 1st issue design, with the green-tinted rear cover where the couple are facing West **

** BOTH COVERS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS SALE - BUT ONLY ONE LP **

Disc :-

An Excellent condition disc. Some very light hairline marks which are only visible under a very strong light, where the record has been taken out of its sleeve over the years. None of these cause any audible issues. Other than that, there are hardly any surface marks visible in normal daylight. No spindle marks. Very clean, shiny vinyl. Very clean labels on both sides. No skips, jumps, sticking, warps, scratches, scuffs or writing on labels.

Excellent clear, sound quality throughout, with very little surface noise. A very listenable LP indeed. Tested on a Thorens turntable.

'East facing' sleeve:-

This is the sleeve which was originally supplied with the disc listed here. It is in crisp, Excellent condition, with laminated front, no flipbacks, and black and white printed rear artwork, with the couple facing east. No seam splits anywhere. No writing. No creasing. No significant wear anywhere,  and no wear to opening edges. Spine in excellent condition, and all text still clearly legible. 

'West facing' sleeve:-

This is the original, earlier 1969 design for the rear sleeve, and this sleeve DOES NOT come with its disc. It is in Very Good+ condition, with laminated front, flipback design, and green tinted rear artwork, with the couple facing west. Minor general wear. No seam splits anywhere. No major creasing. Minor wear to opening edge and corners. Some writing to rear (see photos). Spine in excellent condition, and all text still clearly legible.

Inner Sleeve:-

Supplied in original EMI 'Important Notice' inner sleeve, which is in Excellent condition, with no writing anywhere, no creasing and no seam splits. 

GRADING:

All records are graded using the UK ‘Record Collector’ format:

MINT (M):

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
