FOR SALE BY AUCTION : ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING OF PINK FLOYD's 1st album THE PIPER AT GATES OF DAWN
This is a very early pressing in MONO of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. In particular it is on the blue COLUMBIA label which means it is very rare indeed. The serial no of the album is SX6157 with XAX.3419 on Side 1 and XAX.3420 on Side 2.
Other copies of this album have sold for £750 - £800!
This album is in excellent condition with no scratches on the vinyl. The record itself plays extremely well, with just a little surface noise as is to be expected for a 50 year old album.
It is complete with the original sleeve and inner printed paper EMI insert. The outer sleeve shows minor signs of wear with a crease mark on the upper right front (through Rick Wrights hair, top right). Otherwise it is in excellent condition, with no damage to the spine. There is a tear at the edges of the paper insert. There is also an anti-static Mofi inner poly sleeve for extra protection.
In view of the likely value of this item, a realistic reserve has been set.
