PEPPER / ONDA BLU ... 7-inch, 45rpm Sigla TV single by DANIEL SENTACRUZ ENSEMBLE. Original Italian pressing on EMI label (3C 006 18483), from 1979. Obscure Italian soundtrack double-sider. When the cult American cop show, Police Woman was eventually aired in Italy as a Poliziotto telefilm series during the late '70s, it was dubbed (as you would expect) / renamed Police Woman : Agente Pepper and completely re-scored for disco appeal. PEPPER is the oddball Italian pop version of the original main theme with typically trashy B-movie disco sound (and vocal chorus) of the period. Intentionally youthful and carefree and possibly "so bad it's good" for some but this is what these Sigla TV singles were all about, as they were aimed at the adolescent - teenage - twenty something market. Still very catchy and strangely compulsive with police siren FX / horn stabs / clavinet / crazy bassline et al. The ONDA BLU side however, is the hidden gem that is, undoubtedly, the most unusual and desirable moment on wax by the Daniel Sentacruz Ensemble. A sophisticated disco lounge cum spacey soft funk theme with a bouncy kick from synth bass and boom bap drums / faux tropical interludes of gently crashing waves / afro percussion / balearic guitars and dreamy scat chorus. Great for DJs. Booming production. We have recorded both sides for our soundclip, opening with the cosmic ONDA BLU :) Striking sleeve artwork shows lead actress Angie Dickinson as the undercover police officer in groovy hippie fashions. Seldom comes up for sale. Rare OST 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG poliziesco Poliziotteschi Poliziottesco
Vinyl is in shiny strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal. Some light surface noises. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The soft card picture sleeve is closer to M- overall regardless of some creasing from storage to the top left corner area. Minimal corner wear. Sharp looking item. Rare OST 45!!! cop thriller television
