Description
My eBay name is 'punky_music' and I'm a full-time record dealer since nearly 30 years
Complete with original sleeve!!! Only released in a blank white card sleeve with a label hole aka window-sleeve (see scan). This very clean original first pressing of the ‘Commercial Zone’ album was only available in the USA. The labels have the PIL logo on one side and the track listing on the other. This album was issued by band member Keith Levene on his departure from PUBLIC IMAGE and includes the original versions of some of the tracks that would later appear on ‘This is What You Want’. The version of 'This Is Not A Love Song' featured here was also issued, officially, as a “remix” on the 12” version of the 1983 'Virgin' records single. Please note: this record release should not be confused with ‘Commercial Zone - Limited Edition’ issued later in 1984 with a proper sleeve. The tracks you can hear are: 'This Is Not A Love Song' / 'Mad Max' [Bad Life] / 'Bad Night' / 'Solitaire' / 'The Slab' [Order Of Death] / 'Lou Reed Pt.1' / 'Lou Reed Pt.2' [Where Are You] / 'Blue Water' and 'Miller Hi-Life'.

Commercial Zone is an album of studio recordings that were released in 1983 by guitarist Keith Levene. Levene fled with the master tapes to America, where he sold the rights for the material and had several hundred vinyl pressings created without consent from John Lydon and the rest of PUBLIC IMAGE. Levene soon received a cease and desist order from PIL's record label. The album includes several songs that were later re-recorded such as 'Blue Water' and 'The Slab' (renamed 'The Order of Death' for inclusion on 'This is What You Want'). Frontman John Lydon originally wanted this stripped-down acoustic version played over the end credits of Copkiller (AKA The Order of Death), a low-budget Italian film Lydon had acted in alongside Harvey Keitel.
