Description
An original 1st pressing of Animals on the UK Harvest label. Matrix A2U/B2U - there is no earlier cut than this. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a widespine gatefold cover. Also included is the original lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In beautiful condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And you really need a clean copy to do this Floyd classic justice. The audio that rolls off a clean 1st press it truly a treat to behold - amazing mastering and acoustics. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a touch of light static in a couple of isolated moments [literally]. And the one deviation is a few sporadic crackles during the opening minute of side 2 - audible, but not much of an issue in reality as it is relatively minor.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers - let me tell you the Animals cover is a real bugger to find in top condition - but this copy is preserved to a very very high standard. Usually there's wear and marking all over the place. Well, this copy has the lightest handling wear of any Animals copy I've ever seen. Front and back really are very very impressive. The interior is in a similar condition. Edgewear is very light and that wide spine is pretty much intact with all text fully visible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity - truly a marvel to behold.
Inner (Vg+) In very nice condition, but for a 2 inch bottom edge split.
