A 2nd pressing straight after the solid blue prism copies from early 1973. Matrix A3/B2. Perimeter text reads 'Gramophone' as all early copies do, and made in 'Great Britain' at 6 o'clock. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with factory sealed left side. Also included is the hard to find original patents silver-text black inner sleeve. There's also the two original posters and only one sticker. A great early original example and in superb condition.
Vinyl (Ex) In fantastic condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. The only noticeable interference was in track 1 where there's some light static audible. But please note this is said to be difficult to avoid entirely on most original copies. A 1mm mark causes a couple of crackles at the start of Track 2, but then it settles down into a very high standard of playback. This is the definitive edition and possibly some of the best ever audio laid down on vinyl by EMI. PLEASE NOTE:- Some folk report a 'skip' pressing fault on some A3/B2 copies [and solid prism copies]. We have double checked this - there is no skip or audible fault in the track 'MONEY' on this copy.
Cover (Ex) A difficult one to find in nice condition as these covers notoriously wear - and after 44 years many look distinctly tired. Not this one! Check out the pics - this example is in very very fine shape. Minimal surface wear - we could pick out just one light crease really. Nothing else vaguely worth mentioning. The spine is in lovely condition and overall the cover maintains excellent rigidity. Difficult to imagine finding a nicer one.
Inner (VG+) One tiny tear - no side splits.
Sticker (Ex+) Unpeeled, no ageing, no markings
Posters (Ex) Perfectly intact with minimal ageing. One tiny crease - see pic.
