Description

An original 2nd Issue of DSOTM copy from summer 1973. Matrix A3/B3. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 2nd edition heavy-card gatefold sleeve with sticker top right corner. This vinyl would have been pressed during the summer of '73 straight after the 1st release and when EMI were still using 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. Also included is the original inner sleeve, and both original stickers & posters. So 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Very nice clean audio as you would expect from these early pre-oil crisis pressings. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All we detected were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments e.g. the super-light openings for each side. It really is a top-level performer..and if you love DSOTM you owe it to yourself to hear it the way it was intended on the medium that delivers best-audio.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice shape and is only exhibiting some light handling and looks better than many examples that surface. Back and front are nice and clean without heavy creasing - slight fade to the top of the sticker. Edge wear is light for this title and the spine is pretty much all intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and this has no doubt been aided by the heavy card construction.
Stickers (Ex & Vg+) Intact and unpeeled. One sticker has a heavy crease in one corner.
Posters (Ex-) Have never been on a wall. One poster has a one inch seam tear at the edge.
Inner (Ex-) A touch of light ageing. No splits.
