This is an excellent sounding example of this double album from my own personal record collection. Nice clear stereo separation with excellent definition and tonal clarity for both LPs, a true and high-quality listening experience for this classic vinyl. The LPs play through without any disenable flaws and very little background noise, providing excellent and very clear sounding Sonics with a great depth of sound.

 Original 1st Press in  excellent++ condition. The original lyric sheets inners are included.

This LP is a very collectable and scarce item in this condition.

Misaligned Bricks 1st Press Cover !!

Excellent Condition Gatefold Cover Nr Mint For Age !!

Typically early pressing have the following characteristics:

Early matrix No’s.

Front cover is Cream Colored with the bricks outlined in purple. (Later copies were White)

The bricks are not aligned right to the bottom of the cover.

The back cover has no barcode.

The inside cover lists “Words and Music” Roger Waters.

The inside cover lists produced by credits in the order of: David Gilmour, Bob Ezin & Roger Waters.

Heavy inner sleeves with rounded corners and thumb notch.

Inside of inner sleeves are light brown – later ones are white.

Darker labels & thicker vinyl than later pressings.

This copy has all the above features.

The Wall is a rock opera[that explores abandonment and isolation, symbolised by a metaphorical wall. The songs create an approximate storyline of events in the life of the protagonist, Pink, a character based on Waters, whose father was killed during the Second World War. Pink is oppressed by his overprotective mother, and tormented at school by tyrannical, abusive teachers. Each of these traumas become metaphorical "bricks in the wall". The protagonist eventually becomes a rock star, his relationships marred by infidelity, drug use, and outbursts of violence. As his marriage crumbles, he finishes building his wall, completing his isolation from human contact.

Hidden behind his wall, Pink's crisis escalates, culminating in a hallucinatory on-stage performance where he believes that he is a fascist dictator performing at concerts similar to Neo-Nazi rallies, at which he sets men on fans he considers unworthy. Tormented with guilt, he places himself on trial, his inner judge ordering him to "tear down the wall", opening Pink to the outside world. The album turns full circle with its closing words "Isn't this where...", the first words of the phrase that begins the album, "...we came in?", with a continuation of the melody of the last song hinting at the cyclical nature of Waters' theme.

The album includes several references to former band member Syd Barrett, including "Nobody Home", which hints at his condition during Pink Floyd's abortive US tour of 1967, with lyrics such as "wild, staring eyes", "Hendrix perm" and "Gohills Boots". "Comfortably Numb" was inspired by Waters's injection with a muscle relaxant to combat the effects of hepatitis during the In the Flesh Tour, while in Philadelphia.

Detailed description
Vinyl:The vinyl looks superb and has retained its original high sheen, with very few marks to be seen. It has clearly been well cared for and rarely played. Under bright light, there were just a few of the finest whispy hairlines and sleeve-removal trails (from the rigid card inner sleeves), but nothing significant.
Labels: All four labels look superb with no signs of damage, writing, stickers etc and minimal spindle marking. Judging by the lack of spindle marks I would estimate that side 1 may have been played four or five times and the other sides maybe only once or twice.
Sleeve: The sleeve has no writing, splits, tears or stickers etc, just typical signs of Storage use. There Is a  crease down the front centre front cover but you have to look very hard to notice it , the edges and corners are near perfect !, some minor discolouration/grubbiness near the edges finger marks on rear of cover and  a few minor marks and scrapes.!!!

Edge wear: The spine is solid and firm.

Corner wear: No bumps to Corners Only Signs Of Minor Creasing In Line With Age .

Inner sleeves: No splits, tears or damage. Just some Faint shaping around the disks and a few minor marks.

  The vinyl looks immaculate and all the indications are that it has had very little use.

VERY GOOD: THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY  BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES ,BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY ,DISPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH.NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS ,WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS ,IS ACCEPTABLE.

GOOD : the record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorted ,perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches .the cover and contents suffer from folding ,scuffing of edges ,spine splits ,discolouration ,etc
