Description
- Rainbow released their fourth studio album "Down To Earth" in August 1979 on Polydor Records. It was the band's commercial breakthrough and includes their biggest hit "Since You Been Gone." After Ronnie James Dio quit the band, Richie Blackmore recruited Roger Glover and new vocalist Graham Bonnet who exited after the recording along with original drummer Cozy Powell.
- This copy of (PD1-6221) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap and is in Near-Mint condition as is the card stock color picture inner sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Greg Calbi (not Colby as is incorrectly listed on the back cover) at Sterling Sound in NYC and this copy was pressed by PRC Recording Co. in Compton, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched PD1 6221 AS PRCC3 A STERLING except for Sterling which is stamped.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 42 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
