Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Original MONO 1968 first pressing PROMOTIONAL COPY... of a great garage psych band...
The RARE mono copy was only released as a limited promotional, and provides different song mixes from the stereo issue...as well contains a punchy production, much different from the stereo stock copy. Record companies stopped producing albums in mono at the end of 1967, so getting an album past 1967 in mono is really special....
In spite of the name, the BOSTON TEA PARTY were from Burbank, California. Originally formed in 1963, they started out as a surf outfit, but by the mid-'60s had decided to follow popular trends, reinventing themselves as a garage psych band.
Featuring a lineup of brothers Mike (keyboards) and Richard (bass) DePerna, singer Travis Fields, drummer David Novogroski and guitarist Mike Stevens, the group released their only album by the MGM affiliated Flick Disc label in 1968 - the cleverly-titled "The Boston Tea Party". The original material such as "I'm Telling You", "Straighten Up and Fly Right" and "We Have Already Died" was actually pretty cool. Largely penned by Stevens, the results were organ-driven rockers that reflected a distinctive psych edge. Fields proved a surprisingly strong voice, capable of nicely controlling the numbers ("I Found a Way"). Elsewhere the album was worth hearing just for some of the year's inept guitar solos (check out Stevens' performance on "I'm Telling You"). Mike DePerna's stabbing organ should appeal to many (he occasionally sounded as if he were playing a different song from the rest of the band ("Fantasy"). The band survived long enough to undertake a cameo performance in the American International biker flick The Cycle Savages (a couple of their songs were included in the soundtrack), and they were history.

CONDITION: The Cover: is solid VG+ with MONO sticker and PROMO sticker (no seam splits, no bends, no writing) having some very light shelf wear that is minor and should be of little to no problem. Also has a couple of hard to notice thin pen marks prob by radio d.j. Keeper copy
The Vinyl: is glossy on both sides VG+ having light scuff marks, nothing deep, just a visual thing, visual, and play graded here, excellent... clean FLICK DISC labels...with "promo" text
