RARE DECCA SXL 2306/7 Ansermet PROKOFIEV Cinderella LP NM
This is a very rare double vinyl record album issued in Britain by Decca, catalog number SXL 2306-7. One record features the Cinderella Suites by Prokofiev, while the other disc features the Romeo & Juliet Suites by Prokofiev. Both performances are by L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the baton of conductor Ernest Ansermet. Both records are visually near mint - I found one very short, light scratch between cuts 1 and 2 on side 1 of the Romeo and Juliet suites, which doesn't appear to sound in particular. There is the odd audible "pop" and "snap", typical of old vinyl, but usually a good cleaning takes care of this. The record has a gatefold cover with different colored photos for each ballet on either exterior side. The cover is in near mint condition with some evidence of de-lamination of the plastic laminate near the spine - normal for a gatefold like this. Each record is very heavy, weighing 150 grams and comes with its original inner sleeve. This is an extremely rare record, very difficult to find in extremely nice condition like this - wonderful addition to a collection….please click on any photo in order to enlarge….
