“Fred Allen” Radio Show Transcription Disc
One Complete 30 Minute Radio Program On This 16 inch, Vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm Disc
This disc was issued to Armed Forces Radio Service stations for broadcast to U. S. Troops overseas only and not available to the general public, Very Rare!
"Fred Allen" radio program #30 from June 20, 1943 starring Fred Allen with Portland Hoffa and special guest LEO DUROCHER
Includes a very funny skit where Fred Allen is given tickets behind the dugout to the Brooklyn Dodgers game by Leo Durocher. Fred Allen is hit in the head by a foul ball on the first pitch. Leo Durocher argues with the umpire and a brawl breaks out on the field. Fred Allen is arrested for stealing the baseball he was hit by and has to go to court! Very Funny!
The "Allen's Alley" question is "Did you have any trouble using your number 17 coupon" - this was a WWII ration coupon for buying shoes - apparently people packed into shoe stores to use the coupons before they expired
Disc is in EX- condition with EX-/EX sound, beautiful disc!
