Up for sale is one (1) RARE The Beatles Story 1972 BBC Vinyl 13 Picture Disc Set Limited Ed. #32 of 150. This Set is in Excellent to Mint Condition as pictured. Does not look like the records were ever played. The BBC production notes is basically close to mint condition. The faux leather folio is in near mint condition as well. The Beatles Story - The Authentic B.B.C. Production 13 Picture Disc Set RAREST BEATLES BOOTLEG! THE BACKSTORY The Beatles Story aired on (British Broadcasting Company) BBC Radio One, May through August 1972. It was a 13-part, 55 minutes each, radio documentary of authentic music and first-hand interviews covering the entire history of The Beatles from their individual beginnings to the breakup of the band. The BBC made complete use of their own archive of audio interviews and music. You are bidding on The Beatles Story / The Authentic B.B.C. Production from London Wavelength (1980) : ONLY 150 WERE PRODUCED – this is #32/150 – in a 13 vinyl LP set of 12" picture discs in a brown faux-leather bound album with a 26 (double-sided page) (8 ½"x 11") booklet of disc jockey cue sheets and music copyright pages (not originals from any radio station) that accompanied the radio station broadcast. Each LP has a photo on one side that is unique to that disc; the other side lists the title of the chapter contained on the disc – with the common Wavelength logo, each disc in different colors. The album set contains thirteen pockets: one for each LP; and each LP is in a paper sleeve inside the pocket (that depicts the same likeness as the picture disc LP.) The chronological titles of the LPs: “The Birth of the Liverpool Sound” “Getting it on Wax” “Chart Success and the Package Tours Begin” “The Start of Beatlemania” “The World Surrenders” “The Life and Rewards of Success” “When the Touring had to Stop” “The Psychedelic Chapter” “Meditation and Corporation” “Hello Goodbye or Come Together” “The End of The Beatles” “The John Paul George and Ringo Show” “John Paul George and Ringo Today”. There is not any mark on any picture disc. Each picture disc has a different image and color on side one and side two has the Wavelength Beatles picture.

The Beatles Story (13 LP picture disc leather-bound set, released December 1980) Taken from radio station reel-to-reel master tapes, this is the entire 13-hour BBC special on The Beatles that originally aired in 1972. Limited edition of 150 numbered and embossed copies, brown cover with cue-sheet booklet. Limited edition of 20 additional numbered copies, white cover, special "John Ono Lennon 1940-1980" issue, released Christmas 1980. All sets had hardbound leather covers with 13 individual cardboard jackets bound inside to hold the 13 picture discs. Each picture disc and jacket had a different cover, front and back. This set is currently, and has always been since its release, the rarest and most sought after of all bootleg records by any artist. It is currently valued at $800-$1,200 (February 2024) and has always been nearly impossible to find since its origional release.
