Task Force (Undercover Cops) / Stamp Out Disco 7"
Able AB002, 1978
One of (if not the) greatest punk single to come out of Australia post-Saints / Birdman, these guys melded snotty vocals to a punishingly effective stripped-back attack that, although often described as having a UK-inspired sound, unwittingly preempted the US cusp-of-hardcore sound ala The Pagans. This is a fantastic original yellow label copy that looks like it literally has not been played! The oversized, matchbook-style cover is in perfect condition- no discolouration, hell, even the staples are clean. The inner sleeve is perfect. Without any more breathless hyperbole, you will simply NOT find a better copy of this. It is in the original plastic bag with the original price tag (in perfect condition, of course) from the record store in Brisbane where the band sold the record on consignment. The date on the price tag reads 22/9/78. It has been stored carefully for 30 years.
