Background on this eBay item -

In the year 1806 Hamburg was in a state of alarm, "surrounded," says the French diplomat Louis Antoine Fauvelet de Bourrienne, "as we were then by Swedish, English, and Russian troops." Europe was in turmoil; the shadow of Napoleon lay like a cloud across half the world". In Vienna Beethoven addressed a long and flowery petition to the directors of the Court Theater, agreeing to furnish them with one opera a year, along with a small operetta, choruses and occasional pieces, for the price of one annual benefit concert for himself and a salary of 2400 guilders. He didn't get it. "So be it, then," he writes to the Baron von Gleichenstein: "For you, poor Beethoven, there is no happiness to be found outside' you must create everything for yourself, within yourself."

CONDITION Details:

The JACKET is in Near Mint minus condition. The jacket is completely intact, with NO seam splits. The jacket shows some light shelf wear - primarily the corners and seams. The jacket has NO drill holes or saw marks of any kind and there is NO hand writing on the front or back of the jacket. See picture with this listing for more detail. 

• Mint = Only used for sealed items.
• Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
• Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
• Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
• Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

Please understand that this is a very old record - as such, one cannot expect the record to sound like a brand new, audiophile pressing! Some noise is inevitable - for best results, always properly clean your LPs before playing them.

The LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).

1. Ground service is also available and although slightly cheaper, is not recommended due to the length of time it takes for packages to arrive at a customers address - usually about two months for overseas customers.
