This is a sealed copy of the 1998 DEF Jam LP record. I worked for PolyGram records in the 90s, DEF jam was one of our labels and I received this then. It has sat sealed in my office for over 20 years. If I wasn't selling my house it would probably sit for another 20 years. There is a small hole drilled through the barcode on the back and through the front. This was to indicate it was a not for sale, promotional item. It does not toch the record. I have taken pictures of all four corners, please check the pics. I also have a Method Man Tical 2000 Judgment Day sealed double LP up in another listing thanks for looking.

Clifford Smith Jr. (born March 2, 1971),[2] better known by his stage name Method Man, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor. He is known as a member of the East Coast 

Reginald "Reggie" Noble (born April 17, 1970), better known by his stage name Redman, is an American rapper, DJ, record producer, and actor. He rose to fame in the early 1990s as an artist on the Def Jam label.

He is well-known for his collaborations with his close friend Method Man, as one-half of the rap duo Method Man & Redman,[1] including their starring roles in films and sitcoms. He was also a member of the Def Squad in the late 1990s.

Doc's da Name 2000 is the fourth studio album by American rapper Redman.[9] The album was released on Def Jam Recordings on December 8, 1998. It peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200. It was a top seller, being certified platinum for sales of over a million copies.

The song "Da Goodness'' is sampled in the Barbadian soca beat "Redman/Da Goodness Riddim" in 1999. The song "Let Da Monkey Out" was featured in the 2005 film Syriana.[10]

Commercial performance[edit]

Doc's da Name 2000 debuted at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, becoming his third number one on the chart.[11] On February 17, 1999, the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over a million copies.[12] The album was certified only two months after being released. As of October 2009, the album has 2,875,000 copies in the United States.[13]
