Description

Hi, and welcome to "psych_out!" auctions!!!

I specialize in 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between! I've been dealing records for years, but i'm quite new to the ebay game so i'd like to tell you all of my intentions. I travel all over the UK hunting out the VERY BEST records I can find. Obviously, 90%+ of the ones I can find are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? I offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!!

I'm going to start by listing 20 LP's a week, all timed to end 10 days later. Hopefully after a while, i'll be able to step things up a gear or two in good time. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I can ever possibly find!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I intend to become one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!

I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Title :  The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet

Label & year : Original "Unboxed" Decca LK 4955 LP , UK Mono 1968 1st Press Vinyl!!!

Matrix's : Side A : XARL-8476-4A , Side B : XARL-8477-2A .

About : Ultra rare Original 1968 FAR RARER Mono 1st Press!!! (stereo's were the norm by then) This MASSIVELY RARE LP sold barely anything as a 1st issue (LP's were really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very, very small run and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP, bid now!!!

Musicians : Mick Jagger - Vocals, Keith Richard - Guitar, Charlie Watts - Drums, Bill Wyman - Bass, Brian Jones - Guitar and everything else!

The LP :

Labels :

Classic Original 1st Press 1968 "Unboxed" Decca labels!!!. Both sides are GREAT with minimal signs of age wear and NO nasty marks whatsoever!!! Just has the usual light spindle marks from relatively light use over the years!!! FANTASTIC for a 38 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Very Good if not better!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Ultra Thick 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks GREAT with NO nasty marks, deep scuffs OR heavy scratches!!! And NO groovewear whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just the usual mild non sounding hairline scratches, and mega light, wispy sleeve traces (only visible in a certain light) from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these light, cosmetic surface blemishes interfere with play much AT ALL!!! FANTASTIC for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall visually as Very Good if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!)    Record : Audio -    Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds great with NO hops, distortion, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has fairly low level static in places such as on the run in grooves, and a bit of light "bluesman's fag" crackle and pop in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter section, but it doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! A hugely enjoyable listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear!!! UNHEARD OF for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably as Very Good if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!)    Sleeve :

Original 1968 1st press G&L laminated gatefold sleeve!!! Very hard to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT too bad AT ALL and still looks GREAT, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO graffiti, NO seam splits, and still strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has some of the usual signs of ageing such as a few ultra light creases, some little creases on the spine which have caught dirt and some creaming of the white colour (though i'm sure a good clean would improve it no end), mild denting/rounding to the four corners, a thin scratch on the front, and just a few other minor hints of age blemishes here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to put it down by only listing the negatives, but the inside picture is FANTASTIC with barely ANY signs of ageing AT ALL!!! A BRILLIANT sleeve considering most I see, and a TRUE rarity to find one as incredible as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! This one remains completely strong and solid, and even the spine remains strong, unsplit, solid and 100% readable despite the creases!!! Must grade overall as Very Good (minus) if not better!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me!!!)

Summary : A truly GREAT example of this ASTONISHINGLY RARE LP!!! Hard to find in any condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS AWESOME AS THIS!!! Don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!!

Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, and cheers!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional light mark and light use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
