Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... UK 1st Earliest TRIDENT //1 //1 Pressing LP - Brain lables, and featuring a 'hole punched' export sleeve with the incredibly rare poster, that was normally only issued with the foreign versions.
We remember back in 1978, a few of these surfaced with the poster in our local store, the poster has a catalogue number that ties in with the european pressing, but here they were inside the UK copies! with the small 'hole punch on the bottom left' which meant it was for export.
SUPER RARE..AND THE POSTER IS INCREDIBLY RARE!
An outstanding 'ARCHIVED' example of this very collectable classic LP.

THE VINYL MINT- INCREDIBLE CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing with the //1 matrix numbers on each side, confirming this is the very first pressing.
This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
There are a few tiny light whisp lines and nothing else! Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..There are a couple of tiny hairlines, but certainly nothing of which spoils the play. We played the LP through and asides from a little lead in static and a couple of tiny static pops on side one the LP played like new!
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE SLEEVE EX SUPER RARE EXPORT- 'HOLE PUNCHED COPY'
Correct FLAT MATT Gatefold first issued earliest sleeve by 'HOWARDS' -Later sleeves were the typical glossier late 70s/80s design - this is the earliest sleeve with the 'export hole punch' on the bottom left
The edges are all clean with only the feintest traces of rub, and the tips also have the tiniest rub, all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition
There are some spider lines on all edges and a few light creases, one in the gatefold running with the vinyl 'press' -nothing too bad tho.
No powdery white ringwear or even ring press of any note..
The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with barely a hint of handling
The open out of the gatefold shows no dulling, white rub or wear at all. It does not fall flat!!
The spine edge has some light spider lines over the edge and a few of them have 'pinched' the sleeve
Overall tho, these sleeves are rare, and dont forget the poster!!!
