This one of a kind vinyl 2 record LP is the Beatles White Album http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles_(album)
The record label is “First Record.” “First Record” was reportedly making records for U.S. military stationed in Taiwan while the soldiers were protecting the small “Free China” island. Apparently there was an unfulfilled demand for music and “First Record” filled it by pressing their own records.
Besides the history, there are aspects to this album and this specific copy that are quite unique.
The printers of the album cover misspelled Beatles without the “T.” The cover reads, “BEALES.”
The “First Label” information is written in both English and Chinese.
The album paper has printed information from older albums. Apparently, to save paper, the makers of the cover used the blank back sides of Glenn Miller and Frankie Fanelli album paper to print the Beatles information. You can see in the photos that the paper inside (that faces the vinyl) has printing from the older “First Label” Taiwan/Chinese albums. The Red Roses for a Blue Lady printing as well as the Glenn Miller printing are in good shape. In the photos of the open Beatles album, you can see the reverse image of these two previous albums. The ink partially bled through the blank paper before they printed the Beatles lyrics which makes for an interesting and unique unintended design.
The cheap thin plastic has not held up well though use and transport, but the thin protection of paper and plastic seems to have kept the vinyl in good shape.
The edges of the paper are a bit frayed; especially at the bottom, but the plastic is worse and seems to have lost its form. When you open and close the album the plastic falls off the paper.
