Description
Very Rare&Classic 72'UK Regal Zonophone(SLRZ 1028) original; Neil Ardley-A Symphony of Amaranths.This legendary LP is incredibly hard to find in any condition,and I'm afraid this is'nt mint and is an ex-library LP,too. Don't let that put you off though-for an ex-public library album it's in pretty good condition.The cover is only fair,understandably,as can be seen from the scan;tape marks top right corner of front cover,one tape mark top left,tear from partially removed sticker bottom right.Small seam split top right edge front cover,slightly larger split at bottom.These can probably be rapaired with some loving care.There is a feint embossed 'Lambeth Public Libraries' circular stamp on front and back cover,but this is hardly noticeable at all.There's also an 'H' stamp on the back cover. There are pin holes top and bottom left hand corners of front cover,going through to the back cover.The label is nice&clean with no writing or labels,remarkably,for a library LP.The record obviously was'nt taken out of the library(West Norwood) very often until I bought it from their sale of all their records in the early/mid 1990's.The record has some light surface marks,minor wear etc and has some light surface noise in the very quiet passages,a few feint clicks here&there but nothing really distracting, and overall is Very Good-Plays Very Good.This album,a classic of late 60's/early 70's progressive British Jazz features a who's who of greats from the UK Jazz scene -Stan Tracey,Don Rendell ,Norma Winstone etc etc. as well as an appearance by the late,great eccentric Ivor Cutler.
