Description
Sapphire Thinkers: "From Within" 1970, USA/Hobbit 5003. Disc is M-, it looks unplayed! Cover has a crease in the upper left corner, a couple of scrapes on the front along the spine, bottom seam is starting to split at the pocket, this is a strong VG+ cover. First I've ever seen without a cut-out, this one must've been bought new! Rare sunny southern California pop psych with fuzz action LP isn't far removed from the sound of Creation Of Sunlight to my thinking. Male and female tandem vocals, flowerpower feel on most of the cuts, band looks clean-cut enough to have appeared on The Tonight Show without raising any eyebrows. I can almost hear Johnny Carson introducing them... "Here's a fine group of youngsters from Canoga Park performing a song from their new album on Hobbit Records..." (Ed McMahon laughs in the background, "HoHoHoHo! Hobbit Records, you are correct sir. Hobbit!").
