Original 1963 pressing with THICK cardboard cover and thick inflexible record on the maroon Checker label - a mere 53+ years of age and playing "killer".
The biggest surprise of the album is that numbers with titles like ?Surf Sink Or Swim?, which you would expect to sound like The Ventures --- but instead you hear crisp, aggressive, and early blues-boogie-rock set to the SURF-ROCK early '60s scene. ?Piggy Back Surfers? is really the old blues recreation of ?Me And My Chauffeur?, wrapped up in a guitar twang formation. And ?Surfer's Love Call?, is like a drunken, good-time Mardi Gras number, with Bo breaking into yodeling instead of bellowing. Some fine surfing out there on the pretty Alpine meadows.
The album's most radical rearrangement is that of ?Ol' Man River?, the one tune that Bo turns into a surf-rock song (and, perhaps, having a vocal part on top would have made the effort more noticeable). Formulaic R&B and blues-rock standards are re-created into surf rock renditions, featuring real novel, unique moves throughout this album. This is Bo's subtle send-up of the whole «surf-rock» movement.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: Thick cover rated: VG++ only a strand or so of visual past use, looks very collectible...there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... 56 years of age!
The vinyl: Rated: the THICK pressing shows is VG has stray (only light) scuffs and hairlines that do not begin to affect the solid strong deep groove pressing revealing no groove wear and excellent audio throughout as tested here. The maroon/silver (mono) Checker labels are clean A cool addition to anyone's music library!
