Description

Up for grabs is a rare copy of the 60’s classic Surfin with Bo Diddley lp. This album was originally released in the US in 1963 by Checker in an obvious attempt to cash in on the current surf boom that was happening at the time. This is a later UK pressing from 1967 on the Marble Arch label (#MAL 751). Regardless, the album was never released in Australia and is very hard to find here!!

The music is beast described as a blend of surf, blues and rock n roll. The songs are a mixture of originals and covers, and aside from “Surfers Love Call” they are all instrumental. “Surf Sink or Swim” and “Low Tide” are my favourites…searing guitar instrumentals…Bo in fine form!!!

The vinyl is VG+. Some light sleeve scuffs but still clean and glossy. Sounds really nice with no loud pops or crackle.

The front laminated, flipback cover is VG. Some small hairline creases, light ringwear and an inconspicuous 3 inch seam split in the top centre.

The labels are VG. Some spindle marks but otherwise clean.

All in all a great playing or display copy of this 60’s surf classic!
