  1970 Deram Records rarity this was a UK psych/folk/pop band of note produced by Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper just as their on band The Strawbs were beginning. The album has drawn comparisons with early Strawbs and The World Of Oz.
  Strawbs' member Dave Cousins ("5 Day Week Straw People") and Tony Hooper were invited to produce the album for "Paper Bubble." No sessions people are credited on the sleeve, which indicates that all instruments and voices are those of the band, Terry Brake, Brian Crane (both vocals, guitars) and Neil Mitchell (bass). However, all the songs are published by Strawberry Music and the engineer is ... Tom Allom, who later produced several Strawbs recordings.
  "Scenery" was recorded in 1969 and came out in 1970. The cover had two different pressings, same design but different colors, and this version is blue.
• This quite rare/obscure British pop-folk-rock memorable psych effort may well hold some interest for fans of underground British folk-rock of the late 1960s and early '70s, as it was produced by two members of one of the major bands in that genre (Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper of the Strawbs). However Paper Bubble were far more "British toytown" emphasizing the tight, merry harmonies of guitarists Terry Brake and Brian Crane. Many of the tracks having bouncy, groovy 60's feeling breaks into their self composed wistful numbers. The sound is thickened with some keys, light arrangements, and vague psychedelic textures. Like much of the popular to collect American "west coast sunshine pop rock" albums of the 60's with upbeat vibes injecting an innocent childlike escapist quality found in much British psychedelia of the time. And like many such efforts, it has pleasant surface qualities, highlighting memorable depth and standout compositions. In this context, "Mother Mother Mother," rocks like the devil, with berserk organ breaks, effective distorted electric guitar licks, and overall a standout number on the record -- and was, in fact, anthologized on the Broken Dreams, Vol. 3 compilation of psychedelic British rock rarities -- such brazen energy Paper Bubble displayed.

The cover: rated: VG++ laminated fragile and still collectible to the point serving as a collection keeper without need to upgrade and really the only issue is a crease at top left corner area and very slightest of prior use, reminding the rarity is only 54 years and climbing further out of reach. Has the production method of perfect round circle at upper right back cover only depicting  blue for stereo or red for mono (appropriate color Deram) inner sleeve included ... the 1970 issue therefor is complete. There are no delete marks, no split seams,and no writing  ...still with original colors (blue and gold)
