IN APRIL 2006 I ALREADY SOLD 2 SINGLES BY SINN SISAMOUTH ON EBAY (THE ONLY COPIES I HAVE EVER SEEN ON EBAY!!), THEY HAVE BEEN IN A SIGNIFICANT WORSE CONDITION - EACH FOR $68.00 & $90.00 (you can see it on POPSIKE.COM) ++++++++++++Sinn Sisamouth From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sinn Sisamouth (Alternate spellings: Sinn Sisamout/h, Sisamut/h or 'Si' with spacing e.g. Si Sisamouth) (Pronounced: Sinn Sis-sa-mott with a silent 'h') was a very famous and a highly prolific Cambodian singer-songwriter of the 1960s and 70s. Because his presence and influence on Cambodian music was so great, he is still considered a household name and remains popular to this day. He sang the soundtrack songs to many famous movies of his time, such as On srey On and Thavory meas bong. He recorded many duets with female singing partners Ros Sereysothear and Pan Ron. Ros Sereysothear's high crisp voice nicely balanced the deeper-toned voice of Sisamouth. It is believed that Sinn Sisamouth, as well as many other Khmer musicians and actors of his time, died during the Khmer Rouge regime of the 1970s, thus ending the career of someone widely considered the 'King of Khmer music.' Although all the master tapes of his studio recordings are thought to have been destroyed by the Khmer Rouge, his work lives on in recordings created from tapes and LPs that survived the Khmer devastation. Despite the popularity of a younger generation of Khmer singers with a more Westernized approach, Sismouth's repute endures and grows. Sinn Sisamouth composed and sang literally hundreds of songs. Additionally, he translated some of his favourite songs from such languages as English and French and sang them in Khmer (Cambodia's main language), introducing songs to Cambodia that may not have been heard before. The bulk of Sisamouth's songs focused on love, and he recorded with highly skilled musicians.
