Description
Sonic Youth's second full length album. Released in the US on Homestead Records and in the UK on Blast First at the same time. Has early drummer Bob Bert (Pussy Galore, Chrome Cranks, Knoxville Girls). Catalog number: BFFP L / HMS 016. Rare. Lists as $40 NM. Does not include lyric insert.
AllMusic noted the album's dark nature, writing: "An album quite unlike any other in the colorful Sonic Youth canon, Bad Moon Rising captures the New York band in 1985 during its most morose phase, one that is quite forbidding yet fascinating all the same."[2] Trouser Press wrote that it "[exudes] all the horrible beauty of a mushroom cloud on the horizon".[8]

Vinyl: Perfect in every way. No scuffs or scratches. Never been played.
Jacket/Sleeve: Perfect in every way. No stains, wrinkles, creases, marks or writing.
(NM) Near Mint or (M-) Mint Minus:
Vinyl: Shiny surface, free of any visible defects. No surface noise. Looks as if it were opened for the first time. Has been well taken care of.
Jacket/Sleeve: No creases, ring wear or seam splits. Appears as if opened for the first time.
(NM-) Near Mint Minus:
On the low end of Near Mint
(VG++) Very Good Plus Plus or (E+) Excellent Plus:
On the high end of Very Good Plus or Excellent
(VG+) Very Good Plus or (E) Excellent:
Vinyl: Except for a few minor issues, these would be Near Mint. Most listeners will be happy with this condition. May have light scuffs, very light scratches or slight warps, but none of it affects the sound. May have light surface noise, but won't overpower the music.
Jacket/Sleeve: Shows slight signs of wear such as minor seam wear or a small split along the bottom.
(VG) Very Good:
Vinyl: Lacks the shiny finish. Grove wear and light scratches are evident. Surface noise and scratches are audible, but won't overpower the music. May have slight warps, but still plays through without skipping.
Jacket/Sleeve: Shows obvious signs of handling and wear. Has ring wear and seam splits. Might have writing or a price tag, or bent corners or stains. Labels may have writing or a sticker.
(VG-) Very Good Minus or (G) Good:
Vinyl: Has scratches, significant surface noise and groove wear. May have slight warps, but still plays through without skipping.
Jacket/Sleeve: Has obvious wear and tear, writing, price tags, bent corners, stains, etc.
(F) Fair or (P) Poor:
Vinyl: Cracked, scratched and/or badly warped. The record skips or repeats.
Jacket/Sleeve: Badly damaged.
