Description
Sons: "Minus Seeds And Stems" 1972, USA/No label CFS-2126. Disc has some light scuffs and a few needlemarks, plays great with only a few stray ticks, it gets a VG+ grade. Cover has some light soiling, seams are wearing out but still holding together, this is VG+. RARE ORIGINAL private LP by the Sons Of Champlin pressed up by the band themselves at the Custom Fidelity plant (Mary Butterworth, Kusudo & Worth, Steve Mann's debut, etc.). I asked Tim Cain about this LP some years ago and he said the Sons were disappointed with how their studio LPs didn't reflect the energy of their live performances, and when they split with Capitol they assembled this release themselves from their collection of live tapes and sold it locally. It's a wild ride, lots of uptempo jamming with insane lead guitar, it's definitely my favorite release of theirs! The original apparently did not have any insert, only the repressing did. On telling the original from the repressing: The trail-off on the reissue contains the number L-41076. The original disc does not have this number. The reissue cover is printed direct-to-board so it's white inside the pocket. The original cover has a chipboard center with outer slicks, so it's tan/grey inside the pocket.

I pack/ship once a week, usually on Friday. I use sturdy cardboard boxes designed for shipping records, and I remove the disc from the cover to prevent seam splits during shipment.
