Description

SORROWS “Pink Purple Yellow & Red” RARE Aussie ASTOR 7”, UK R&B freakbeat

The Sorrows – Pink, Purple, Yellow and Red 7” (orig. Australia Astor MONO AP-1390)

Australian Release date: August 1967 (UK Release date: 9 June 1967).

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original Australian issue of the seventh (and final) British 7” single by THE SORROWS.  “Pink, Purple, Yellow and Red” is an extraordinary atmospheric freakbeat song about depression, with snotty vocals, fuzzy guitar leads and a superb melody.  The flipside is a fuzzed-out cover version of New York band THE LOVIN’ SPOONFUL (definitely my favourite SORROWS single).

THIS IS WHAT SEPARATES THE CONTENDERS FROM THE PRETENDERS IN THE MUSIC SWEEPSTAKES.  Be sure to check out the YouTube links below!
