FIRST SPADE COOLEY RECORDING 10"
Here we have a RARE 10" record by Spade Cooley and it's his FIRST. This came out in 1949. One price guide I looked at said it came out in 1951 but the date on the cover is 1949. In any event it is the FIRST, THAT we know. Spade Cooley was one of the first what was called "cool" guys during this time. His music and his dress made him like this. He ws also called "The King of Western Swing". He got his name Spade from a run of spades he kept getting in a poker game he was in all night. His music had distinct sounds for being this early in western music and country cowboy coolness! COOL MAN! The 10" lists $250.00.The jacket is Ex-NM and the record is a solid VG. This record is rare even for a 10"!
