This is the absolute perfect sixth studio album from the duo of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen !
This is the OG!
The very first pressing of this album with the catalog #AB-1006 !
The label raised the price of the record by $1 two weeks later and the subsequent LPs have the catalog #AA-1006. So this catalog/variant of this were only pressed for 2 weeks in 1977!
And it was of course produced by Gary Katz with a session of over 40 musicians.
This was their most successful LP with the hits PEG, JOSIE and DEACON BLUES...
They also won a Grammy in 1978 for Best Engineered Recording, non-classical, and other nominations.
It has been added to the NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically and aesthetically significant " -- and it fills all 3 categories!
And many already know, but the late 70's-mid 80's Steely Dan LPs, especially AJA !, are legendary in their tight studio production. Showing off the dynamic range and clarity - this LP is highly sought after for testing and showing off beautiful high end stereo systems.
Exactly why it won that Grammy!
This album is a duplicate from my personal collection, purchased in 1977 (at Record Bar in Chattanooga!) shrink wrap removed and shelved since.
This album has NEVER BEEN PLAYED.
EVER.
She's minty-fresh and super clean, a looks is the outer sleeve with just a few white break through spots on the glossy black sleeve and shelf wear on the outer gatefold corners - zoom in on pics.
