This record features the superb playing of Stephane Grapelli , violinist, and Barney Kessel, guitarist, in a tribute to the masterful Django Reinhardt. Grapelli and Reinhardt were of the same time period, but had almost nothing else in common. Nonetheless they played music together off and on for 30 years. While Kessel credits Charlie Christian as his chief influence, he wrote the title tune and Reinhardt's music in there in Kessel's playing on this record.
This record is a Limited Edition Special Master Recording. The sound is amazingly crisp and dynamic. The album is inside a static-free, dust free plastic lined paper sleeve, and that is inside a cardboard sleeve, which also acts as an explanation of the Special Master Recording's quality and recording process.
