Original Classic Records pressing on 180 gram vinyl. Out of print and growing harder and harder to find, the 180g versions are preferred by collectors over the later 200 gram pressings. Original 1957 Living Stereo release. Review: These legendary performances of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite (1910 version and Petrouchka (1911 version), with the Paris Conservatory Orchestra conducted by Montuex, were recorded in 1956 by a Decca production team led by Kenneth Wilkinson. The recordings were issued in mono as LM 2113 in 1957. the Firebird Suite was subsequently released in stereo as VICS 1027. This is the first re-issue of the title made with the Living Stereo banner added to the mono cover art, which was the usual approach by RCA during that era. As expected, the sonics and hall ambience are outstanding and not to be missed.
