SUPERTRAMP - s/t LP (UK A&M AMLS 981, 1970)
This is mega rare UK 1st Press (A1 / B1) of the Supertramp mighty debut LP - the only great album in their career and frankly speaking is truly fantastic record! Unfortunately most of the people never tried to listen that music, because of the later, much poppier (and simply different) stuff. This is a doomy and majestic music based on Hammond organ and electric guitar sounds. The 12-minutes long Try Again is one of the best, progressive tracks from an era! Luckily Roger Hodgson played just bass, here! Anyway, if you like classic records like Genesis - Trepass, Procol Harum - Home, Indian Summer - s/t, Blonde On Blonde - Rebirth - it's a MUST for you!
This album was sold in less than 1000 copies and it's really really rare! It's very easy to find on later, silver label press (from 1977), but tan A&M original (released only in UK!!!) is in my opinion even rarer than Arcadium or Czar records...
Cover: EXCELLENT+ (just a hair below MINT-) This is a strong grade - the fully laminated cover is very close to MINT-. The only flaws are 3 micro wrinkles on the front; one on back and minimal laminate lifting along part of the spine (not broken). NO edgewears; NO creases; NO writings; NO spinewears; NO hidden flaws!
Record: EXCELLENT+ (looks MINT-) Unfortunately this is not the best of pressings. Everybody who knows those vintage, heavy vinyl A&M tan label's pressings probably knows what I mean. The record itself looks like being unplayed, although some slight noises and single clicks are present in the quietest moments. Still it's very nice condition and the most probably - impossible to upgrade!
You can bid with confidence – check my feedback, please. My grading system is very strict – with very slight difference between M and EX. As a collector too I perfectly know, what does it mean to buy an overgraded record!!!
All my records (including 7-inches) were cleaned on Clearaudio Matrix machine and are ready to listen – without any disturbing noises or crackles caused by dirt.
