Description
THIS IS THE US ORIGINAL PRESSING on UNITED ARTISTS label. GATEFOLD COVER + INNER SLEEVE. The cover is in VG+ condition, normal wear, BUT light discolouration/wear on corners/spines (without splits), surface ringwear, drill-hole (top left), left spine is fully readable; INNER with creases and one corner bent; for details see photos. The vinyl is in VG+ condition (some clicks) and plays great and without lessening in sound quality.

Produced by Frank Slay (Strawberry Alarm Clock, Boenzee Cryque...), this group should interest fans of Californian sounds with good guitars, a la Redwing or Redeye. Sweet Pain was fronted by Riordan and Phillips and the highlights of their very consistent album include the long Joy with its twin guitars, Richard And Me (the only cover, a Pistilli and West song from 1967) and The Lover. Their music was mainly comprised of free flowing west coast rock with shared vocals and interesting guitar solos but also included a melancholic instrumental track with 12 string guitar. The same year, Phillips and Slay produced the first album by Sugarloaf...(Fuzz Acid & Flowers)
