Scott Walker Acetate/Demo “Jackie / Amsterdam” Super Rare
Scott Walker “Jackie / Amsterdam” Philips Acetate(?) Demo Only, USA/EuropeHere I’m auctioning a super rare (I think I have the only copy) of a Philips demo for two Scott Walker tracks Jackie and Amsterdam.
I put details up onto discogs sometime ago questioning exactly what this is, but none have been able to provide any more info.
Basically this disc is likely an acetate, it’s super heavy, stiff, not like a vinyl pressing, yet the labels clearly state “Special DJ Copy, Not For Sale”. I don’t think it’s a disc for DJ’s to use. In fact this disc is totally NEAR MINT with some very very light storage marks. There is a stamped matrix 326843 A and 326843 B on the runout.
Is it American or European? I’m not sure, but label B has a stamp “Max J. Page on it, and from somewhere in my memory banks, he’s American and I’m sure I’ve seen his stamp on demo copies of records elsewhere.
Regardless, this is an opportunity to own a fabulous rarity, I’ve never seen another one for sale. Priced accordingly.
