Description
This is Contemporary Records S7577-8-9-80, Shelly Manne And His Men At The Blackhawk Volumes 1-4. This is the complete set of 4 records. This is the original deep groove, black label, stereo issue on all 4 lps. The quintet features Richie Kamuca, Joe Gordon and Victor Feldman. Volume 1 is in VG++ condition, with two light marks on side 2 keeping it from being rated near mint. Except for a brief period at the very beginning of side 1 where there is a small bit of background rumble, it plays quietly throughout. Every other volume is graded near mint and plays cleanly throughout. The cover on volume 1 shows some wear on the spine and ring wear on the front, but is otherwise excellent and intact. The cover for volume 4 also shows some ring wear, but these three covers are excellent and intact. I hope that this unusual offering of all 4 of the original stereo issues at once, and in excellent condition, will be quite tempting to the collector. The records were cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be listing over the next few months. Please check our other listings.
