Description
Yellow label, deep groove with 446 W. 50th St. N.Y.C. address on both labels; same address on the bottom of the back cover. 4 tracks from 1949 with Al Haig, piano; Stan Levey, drums; Gene Ramey, bass. 4 tracks from 1950 with Haig, piano; Tommy Potter, bass; Roy Haynes, drums. 4 tracks from 1950 with Tony Aless, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Don Lamond, drums. Getz, tenor sax on all tracks. This was the period that Getz was referred to as "The Sound". Very rare edition. Cover: VG to VG+ Edge wear with indications of a 1" split on the top edge at the insert edge. Bottom edge has 1/2" split at the insert edge and a 2" split. The spine has a 4" and a 3" split. 2 small scuff marks on the cover (1 near the spine and a small scratch (about 1" under the "LP 7002" designation). Also, a corner crease on the top edge corner at the insert edge. A 2" X 2" irregular tear on the back cover near the insert edge (this does not effect the notes). Slight aging. Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. There are 2 or 3 small rub marks that are barely visible. Played only a few times. There are a few exceptionally light clicks or crackles, infrequent. , In general, there is no surface noise. The described light noise occurs on only 1 or 2 track and is not a function of wear. Audibly checked.
