LP : Ted Curson - Cattin' Curson

Original French pressing from 1975 on MARGE, the first LP to be released on the tiny french label: MARGE 01. Recorded 1973, October 26th at the Bilboquet in Paris, recorded & mixed by JEF GILSON. Linernotes in English on the back by Chris Woods. On this one Ted Curson teams up with the G.Arvanitas Trio plus Ch.Woods. The quintet performs finest deep jazz and modern hardbop with a modal edge, to get an idea of the music on “Cattin' Curson” you can listen to “Ted Curson - L.S.D. Takes A Holiday LIVE France 1973!” on youtube, recorded the same year the “Cattin' Curson”-LP was recorded, the line-up is the same except that Ch.Woods is misssing.

In the same year 1973 all the sidemen of „Cattin' Curson“ recorded together the in demand LP for FUTURA RECORDS called „Chris Woods / Chris Meets Paris Meets Chris“, in fact MARGE is a sub-label of FUTURA, both labels were run by Gérard Terronès. Condition: the record looks mint- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint-- to ex++ under a very strong halogen lamp. It plays in mint- all of the time.

The cover shows just slight shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with just slightest rub in a few spots only on the bottom-seam, there is a tear from a removed sticker in the lower right corner on the back so that a bit of the white colour is missing ( there is no writing, no photo etc. in this part), the back is otherwise fine, the front is real fine; overall ex-.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint-- bis ex++ aus. Sie spielt durchgehend in mint- , Top !

Das Cover hat nur leichte Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt mit ganz leichtem Abrieb nur an wenigen Stellen der unteren Kante, in der rechten unteren Ecke der Rückseite ist ein Aukleberabriß in einem weissen Bereich ( also wo weder Fotos noch Text sind), ansonsten ist die Rückseite gut erhalten, die Vorderseite ist sehr schön erhalten; insgesamt in ex-.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
