Description

Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - A Collection of Oldies...' 1966 FIRST PRESS stereo Parlophone UK pressing vinyl LP.
This particular pressing features a few rarities! Firstly, it is a STEREO copy dating from the mid-sixties. This is quite rare as the demand for mono records completely out-weighed the demand for stereo records. Thus, far fewer stereo copies were produced! Also, the sleeve is manufactured by 'EJ DAY'...mid-sixties stereo sleeves were usually printed by 'Garrod & Lofthouse' so a nice rarity! Also, it features VERY early mother stampers - possibly one of the first 300 ever pressed using the third and fourth lacquers! DO NOT MISS OUT!!!

Artist: The Beatles
Title: A Collection of Oldies...
Catalogue Number: PCS 7016
Year: 1966
Number of Tracks: 16
Matrix Numbers: -1G  -1G
Mother Stampers: 1M  1A

VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS!!!

Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - a few hairline marks and scratches but none that I can feel! Has a lovely gloss and shine and looks great! Rated as VERY GOOD+. Label is EXCELLENT-.                       Side 2 - has a VERY light feelable mark to track 3 - doesn't cause any skips, jumps or sticks on my system! Elsewhere, a few hairlines and marks but nothing else feelable. Lovely gloss and shine! Rated as VERY GOOD. Label is VERY GOOD+.
Audio: I have play-tested the first track on Side 1 and the first track on Side 2 ONLY!!! They both play as EXCELLENT-/EXCELLENT. Light crackle on the run in, punchy audio quickly masks it and it's not that audible! Plays really well and has great original tone and a rich bass tone! Lots of clarity! No skips, jumps or sticks on my system.

Comes with a Charisma red inner sleeve...have no idea why but it's all I have at the moment. Has a split to the left side of about 3" and a 1" split along the bottom. Houses it really well however!

Sleeve: The original 1966 stereo EJ DAY sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition! The front has a lovely gloss and shine, with some light laminate creasing towards the edges and a price sticker removal mark towards the top left (could probably be removed if you have the know-how). The rear of the sleeve is nice and clean and white with a few marks to the flipbacks but they are held down tightly. Free from writing and graffiti. The spine is 100% readable and slightly rounded. All clean, all edges intact, houses the record well - a great RARE sleeve!

PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!

As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record. Overall, a RARE Beatles sleeve variant that every collector should own!
