APPLE LABEL ACETATE
HITCH
"long long road"
We are looking through boxes of acetates we have had in store for years and will be listing these over the next few weeks.
We are offering, this time, some on the Beatles Apple Label.
This lot is for:
"Long Long Road" by HITCH
Now, I can find no reference to either the artist "HITCH" or the track but, let me tell you, this is one lost gem!
The track starts with a mellotron introduction (very 'psychy' which makes me suspect this is a late sixties track) then a funky guitar kicks in and introduces a drum roll then a screaming vocal.
This is a funky Country Rocker! Very much in the style of Lynrd Skynrd with 'soul' !!
The Lyrics go:
"tonight won't be the first time I've slept outside on the road
sure won't be the last time, I know.
Find a big old shady tree and take off my hat and coat,"
. . . . . and so on! (do you recognise them?)
Then a blistering guitar solo!
The interesting thing is that, since I cannot find any trace of this song, it might well be unpublished!
However, the main value is because it is on the BEATLES APPLE LABEL and as such it will be highly prized by collectors.
