THE BEATLES
“Meet The Beatles!”
Capitol Records MonoT-2047
Up for an auction is a collectible copy of The Beatles Meet the Beatles, not just rare promotional copy, but also unique, because this copy belonged to a radio station owned by the legendary Philadelphia based Philco consumer electronics company, a pioneer in radio, television and battery production, which built many iconic radios and television sets, including the classic cathedral-shaped wooden radio of the 1930s (The "Baby Grand"), please see a photo of it attached in this listing. Philco is also a record label, associated with Columbia, which had Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Bing Crosby and others. This very early 1st West Coast Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Los Angeles, Hollywood issue contains the very early Capitol Records black multi-colored 1st label variation, containing 1 BMI, a 1.5' pressing ring and "T-2047" catalog number. The back cover contains a blue ink rubber stamp "PROMOTIONAL-NOT FOR SALE" above The Beatles banner. The second blue ink rubber stamp is located vertically along the left edge of the back cover, reads "Protection Department, Employes Only", using a rare dated alternative spelling of the more common "employee". Original 1st version cover without the "Produced by George Martin" credit on the back cover. The bottom right corner has a factory designator RIAA 6 number, identifying the copy as a Los Angeles, Hollywood pressing. The front cover also contains a greenish The Beatles banner on the front cover, attributed to the Los Angeles pressing, as oppose to the brown banner, associated with the Scranton pressing. One more unique feature of this album is a large five pointed Hollywood star with rounded tips (please see one of the photos), which can be found only on the very early 1st pressings and was already changed in 1965, appearing as an asterisk. The cover is slightly different from the more common commercial release, made of a thicker and sturdier cardboard. The cover is very clean without having any soiling or writing. Some light signs of ring wear on the front and back cover. The cover has a minimal edge and spine scuffing with some light wear on the corners. The album cover comes with the original blue inner sleeve, which is in great condition, only having some light splits on the edges. Just like the cover, the label are very clean and has minimal wear with some super light spindle marks, seen under a certain angle. I grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus Plus, my conservatism is holding me back from grading the record as Excellent Minus, considering that it has a minimal amount of marks and scuffs if the vinyl is inspected under a daylight, displaying a beautiful gloss. There aren't any marks that could be felt with a finger nail. This is a very rare extremely collectible record with a very interesting story. Please pay attention that there's a promotional copy of The Beatles Help!, which also belonged to a radio station owned by Philco, currently listed for an auction.

POLICY:
Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other. If you want to participate in my auction, please be honest and positive, and I'll be mutual with you. I'll remove the bids of a buyer with zero rating, unless he contacts me prior to placing a bid. Unfortunately, I don't ship to Germany or Russia. I apologize to the buyers from these countries in advance.
