The majority of the copies listed at our current auction we purchased from Susan, the daughter of a Los Angeles collector, who was a Jim Morrison fan and collected The Doors records. Having two children and being in a difficult financial situation Susan made a decision to sell this collection. We selected, in our opinion, the most interesting items that are currently listed at our auction. We’d like you to pay attention at some of these records. Primarily, it’s the 1st two albums, released in 1967, the Self-Titled album and Strange Days. Both examples are unique, in our opinion, as both covers have the rubber ink stamp of Sunset Sound Recorders, the legendary studio located in Los Angeles where both of these albums were recorded. All we could find out from Susan with regards to where these albums came from is that a part of the records came from her father’s friend, who worked at the Monarch Pressing Plant in Los Angeles in the 70s. Unfortunately, this is the only information we have. Both copies were pressed at the Monarch Pressing Plant and it’s an interesting fact that the plant was located at the time on Jefferson Blvd, which was only six miles away from the Sunset Sound Recorders studio. 

Now, I’d like to provide the description of the album itself. Your The Doors collection won't ever be complete until the moment you find the rarest The Doors issue of the debut album, with the fully uncensored "The End" track. Only a few numbers of these copies were sold before this track was censored. The copy currently listed for an auction you'll hear how Jim Morrison hysterically screams "Mother, I want to f**k you!" along with a series of loud "F**k" towards the end of the track. 

Not only this is an uncensored copy, but, as I’ve mentioned previously, it also contains a black ink rubber stamp at the bottom left of the front cover, reading “Sunset Sound Recorders 6650 Sunset Blvd Hollywood California 90028.” The cover contains a vivid sharp print, without having any signs of ring wear or scuffs, only containing some very light wear to the top right corner and barely noticeable bumping to the bottom right corner, which is probably not even worth mentioning. The top and bottom left corners are perfectly sharp. The spine is rigid with a fully readable text. Don't lose your chance to acquire this copy for your collection. Considering that few of these copies are in private collections, this is most likely the only chance you'll ever have. This copy also has the unique first misprint labels indicating "Break On Through (To The Oher Side)” as oppose to "To The Other Side" on Side 1! The misprint can be found only on the 1st Monarch Mono pressing. Also, the Side 1 label features a "(Weill-Brecht) Witmark (ASCAP)" publishing credit for Alabama Song (Whisky Bar). Heavyweight, almost inflexible vinyl impresses with its shiny lacquer and beautiful condition. The Excellent Minus vinyl contains only a couple barely noticeable hairlines scuffs from the paper inner sleeve visible under a strong light source. The dead wax contains the “delta” (?) number, “MR in a circle” stamp, Monarch “(Mon)" abbreviation and very early 1st matrix stampers EKL-4007A / EKL-4007B. The Gold (and not brown) Elektra Records misprint labels with a bold Monarch font and Monarch only 2.875’ pressing ring and “Mono” banner are very clean, without any wear or scuffs. The vinyl sounds powerfully with a vivid impressive Mono sound. The majority of Mono copies come with a Stereo cover with a Mono sticker. However, this copy comes with an original incredibly rare Mono 1st print cover, containing the Mono catalog number EKL-4007 on both sides. Additionally, this very early 1st pressing copy comes with the original Elektra Records 1st print Monarch inner sleeve with the Elektra logo and the "7, Poland Street" address in Near Mint Minus condition. The 1st Monarch pressings with the "Witmark (ASCAP)" credit came only with an inner sleeve with the "7, Poland Street" address. The subsequent pressing, containing the "Harms Co. (ASCAP)" credit came mainly with an inner sleeve containing the "2 Dean Street ", and only rarely with a one, having "7, Poland Street". Superb copy, rarely seen in such a great condition.

Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other.
