THE HOLLIES “Would You Believe?" orig UK mono M-

1966/UK/Parlophone PMC 7008…… here’s a clean original UK mono pressing of this rare lp. The fragile laminated flap back cover  is in strong VG+ to VG++ condition, the bottom corners are dinged and lightly crushed, top corners have light wear, there are a few short horizontal creases cracks in the laminate on the left side, a few small handling creases, the corners have small laminate lifting, white back has minor light aging, clean spine and seams, the cover looks nice with no splits, or other issues. The vinyl is in M- condition. The labels are clean with a couple of light spindle marks. It's been played very little and sounds great. A very nice copy for your collection! Would You Believe? is an album by the Hollies, released in 1966. It features a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "I Am a Rock," which displayed progression for the band at the time—the rising folk-rock nascent was on the horizon. However, Would You Believe also features a cover of Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen" - by 1966, R&B and blues covers were becoming passe. Another sign of growth for the band on Would You Believe includes the Chip Taylor cover "I Can't Let Go," a major hit for the band. The band-written songs are also considered to be among the more progressive tunes on the album: "Hard Hard Year," "Oriental Sadness," "Fifi the Flea," and "I've Got a Way of My Own." "Fifi," covered by the Everly Brothers, had lyrics outside of the band's norm; "Oriental Sadness" featured distinctly Asian-sounding chords; and "Hard Hard Year" and "I've Got A Way Of My Own" (which had previously appeared on the B-Side of "If I Needed Someone") are both folky sounding tunes.

MINT: as stated with no defects

M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
