In order to assist everyone who buys and sells vinyl, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records. Anyone buying or selling records through their magazine must use their conditions guide to state what amount of wear and tear the disc, its sleeve and/or contents have been subject to. Their standard condition categories, and a description of what each one means, are listed below and I have done my best to grade my collection per their guidelines.

  •  Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
  • "MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
  • NEAR MINT or N/MINT: Accepted as having been played by the previous owner this record appears virtually flawless. A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see. The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork is be as close to perfect as can be.
  • EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK".
  • VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
  • GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
  • FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
  • POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
  • BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
  • In addition to the above + / - signs may be used when it is thought that a record falls between two categories.

Returns Accepted:
As I am selling off my private collection and am not a "shop" I will always do my best as a collector to describe my items accurately but being human I suppose mistakes can always be made. If you feel I have made a mistake with the item details or the grading then please message me before getting to negative feedback or dispute cases so we can sort it out. A full refund will be given if items are not as described or have arrived damaged. If there is a disagreement over grading that I feel is unjust then I will refund the value of the item but not the cost of your return postage. Items must be packed and returned for inspection in the condition in which they were dispatched.

Assisting me in solving any issues this way will enable me to improve my listing and grading skills as I sell off more of my collection.

If there is an issue please contact me via E-Bays member messaging rather than any other E-Bay method. Please do not leave negative feedback before contacting me and giving me the chance to fix any issues.

By buying this item you are hereby agreeing to this returns policy.
