THIS MAY NOT BE THE FIRST ISSUE OF THIS RECORD BUT I AM OFFERING IT HERE SIMPLY BECAUSE IT'S IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION DELIVERING MINT AUDIO THROUGHOUT WITH A CLEAN, SHARP, BRIGHT AND FRESH SOUND (the record has, in my opinion, NEVER been played - there are no spindle marks on the labels and the vinyl surfaces are pristine and unmarked and the front laminated sleeve"Printed in England by Robert Stace" is crisp and sharp)

FANTASTIC COPY OF THE MOODIES' 1965 DEBUT SOUNDING AS FRESH AND VIBRANT TODAY AS IT DID 45 YEARS AGO - GREAT STUFF

The pre-psychedelic Moody Blues' debut is steeped in American soul while still retaining its strong British blues connection
The covers include songs by James Brown, Willie Dixon, and Chris Kenner, plus the chart-busting "Go Now" (originally recorded by Bessie Banks), interspersed with a brace of originals by lead singer/guitarist Denny Laine and keyboardist Mike Pinder, and one Jeff Barry/Ellie Greenwich number, "I've Got a Dream."
The shouters, like "I'll Go Crazy" and "Bye Bye Bird," will be the big surprises, showcasing the rawest sound by the group, but "I've Got a Dream" shows a lyrical, harmony-based sound that is vaguely reminiscent of the Four Tops (which is ironic, as that group later cut a single of the latter-day Moody Blues original "So Deep Within You"), while "Thank You Baby," a Laine/Pinder original, offers them doing a smooth, dance-oriented number with some catchy hooks.
The group's sound is good and loud, and Laine was a phenomenal singer, though the band lacked the charisma and built-in excitement of such rivals as the Rolling Stones and the Animals

LABELS: Clean, bright and unmarked with no spindle traces or signs of use - possibly completely unplayed
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are completely unmarked - the record is as-new
VINYL Audio: Plays beautifully throughout with a crystal clear, rich and detailed sound (nice loud cut from Decca) and on playback at a very loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no surface noise and no clicks or pops. The sound quality is simply sensational throughout and the whole LP plays to the highest possible standard with all frequencies bright and clear, no groove-wear and no distortion. Very strictly graded MINT for audio (it's flawless) this is a fantastic copy and they really don't come much better - this is a fantastic LP and very, very highly recommended
SLEEVE: The front laminated cover is also in practically untouched condition. The front laminate has a beautiful deep, glass-like glossy sheen with no rubbing and the unlaminated reverse is remarkably clean. All edges are crisp, sharp and square and all text on the spine clear and bold - easily NEAR MINT
