THE RAYS  CHESS EP5120  US ORIGINAL 

TIPPITY TOP/MOO-GOO-GAI-PAN/HOW LONG MUST I WAIT FOR YOU/SECOND FIDDLE

 The Rays had a mega hit in 1957 with "Silhouettes" recorded on the XYZ label and nationally distributed on Cameo.  Their first recordings though were on Chess in 1956 and 1957.  Chess put out this EP in 1958 with their early Chess cuts to capitalize on the Silhouettes fame.  Not many copies were pressed.  Very seldom does this EP surface for sale with the picture cover and is one of the rarest of all US EP's.  I don't believe there is another original picture cover of The Rays that exists other than this EP. The jacket has a terrific picture of The Rays and is VG+ with a little paper loss on the right edge from a piece of tape and a 1" seam split on top.  The back cover has the tape paper loss and general shelf wear.  The labels are M- and the Vinyl is VG+/VG++ with a couple of very light surface scratches.  Excellent fidelity at 1.5 grams.  This has not been on EBAY since 2006 (popsike.com) and I doubt another one will surface for years.  This is probably the rarest of the Chess EP's.  Don't pass this one up.  I had to put a modest reserve on this record because of it's rarity. Good luck bidding.

Domestic shipping will be $4.00 USPS Media Mail and includes professional cardboard mailer and packing material. I will combine shipping cost for multiple items and give the best rate possible. Insurance is required on shipments over $100. Sorry but I do not give refunds for items damaged or lost in the mail. International shipping will be First-class Mail International and will be calculated based on weight and distance. Insurance is required on orders over $100.
